Pathology is the science of analyzing pathogens in tissue. It is an integral part of cancer screening, analysis of inflammatory diseases and research about all changes in tissue structures. A central topic in pathology is the examination of sample tissues with the use of a high resolution microscope.
By using dyed samples, smear samples and thin, sometimes frozen sections of organ tissue, cells can be analyzed and conditions can be detected. Pathogens are found at resolutions beyond 1µm and bacteria or transparent membranes become visible thanks to fluorescence imaging.
