Description

The ASKANIA 3W-LED Microscope Lamp provides precise and uniform illumination for microscopic examinations. It is suitable for various microscopes and allows flexible alignment of the light to the specimen.

The powerful 3-watt LED produces bright, high-contrast light with low heat generation and a long lifespan. Thanks to the integrated collector, iris diaphragm, and filter holder, the illumination can be precisely adjusted and adapted to different examination methods.

The microscope lamp can be freely positioned in height and angle using the 320 mm stand. This allows the specimen to be optimally illuminated and a uniform image representation in the microscope to be achieved.

The compact design and robust construction make the lamp ideal for applications in laboratories, education, research, and routine examinations.

Precise Microscope Illumination for Laboratory and Research

The ASKANIA Microscope Illuminator is a reliable and versatile microscope illumination system for microscopes whose light source is not integrated into the microscope base. It enables uniform and precise illumination of specimens and supports both routine examinations and demanding microscopic applications. This allows microscopic structures to be displayed with high contrast and detailed accuracy.

The microscope illuminator is available in two versions. In addition to a classic 6V / 20W halogen illumination, a modern 3W LED microscope illumination is also available. Both versions provide stable and controlled illumination that can be adapted to different requirements in laboratories, educational institutions, or research facilities.

Optical Design of the Microscope Illuminator

The illumination unit features precisely tuned optics that enable uniform microscope illumination. An aspherical collector ensures effective bundling of light and supports homogeneous illumination of the field of view. An integrated iris diaphragm allows the illumination field to be precisely adjusted.

In addition, the microscope illuminator has a filter holder for light filters with a diameter of 32 mm. This allows various filters to be used, such as color filters or neutral density filters to adjust light intensity. A wide filter slot also allows for the use of a polarizer insert, making polarization applications possible.

Optical Adjustment According to the Köhler Principle

For precise microscope illumination, the lamp holder can be focused and aligned accordingly. This allows the illumination to be adjusted according to the Köhler illumination principle, which enables particularly uniform and high-contrast illumination in microscopy.

The design supports field-filling illumination even with larger fields of view. There is also the option of ground glass projection, which allows contrast and illumination field to be optimally coordinated.

Mechanical Construction

The mechanical design of the microscope illuminator allows for flexible and stable positioning. The illuminator is guided by a 320 mm stand, allowing its height to be adjusted. At the same time, the illuminator unit can be variably tilted, so that the illumination can be precisely aligned with the specimen.

The robust design makes the microscope illumination particularly suitable for use in laboratories, educational institutions, and technical applications.

Control Units and Power Supply

Various control units are available for operating the microscope illuminator. The VSL 20 control unit for the halogen version operates with a voltage of 1.2 to 6 volts AC and a maximum power of 20 VA. It has protection class IP20 and is equipped with a thermal fuse.

For the LED version, the VSL 3W LED control unit is used. This operates with an input voltage of 115 to 265 volts and delivers an output current of 700 mA at a maximum of 6 volts DC. This device also has protection class IP20.
<!--nl/>The brightness of the microscope illumination can be continuously adjusted via a rotary control. In addition, the control unit has an illuminated power switch and integrated cooling slots for heat dissipation. The devices are intended for operation in dry environments.

Areas of Application for Microscope Illumination

The ASKANIA Microscope Illuminator is suitable for numerous applications in laboratories and technology. These include both transmitted light and reflected light microscopy. The illumination can also be used for optical experiments and general laboratory applications.

In microphotography, the microscope illumination can also be used in combination with color or neutral density filters. With an optional polarizer, applications in polarization microscopy are also possible.
